New drawing

Been lazy lately, so I started working on this. A friend invited me to a geology field trip a month ago, so I had to draw a geology chick. Colors coming soon.

Em WIP - continued

Back with the project I'm painting... here's a little more. The only camera I have is in my cellphone, that's why the picture sucks.

Concept Art Reel

Hi everyone. Just to tell you guys that I finally edited my concept art reel. I just added the intro and outro that it didn't have before. I did this with the help of my friend Rik(he has a blog too). Please, watch in High Quality, (if you don't know how to do this, just go to the options on the bottom right of the player). Hope you like it.

More Mr.Monster

As part of my internship I have to sketch a concept for a character Mr. Monster (i explained this in an older post - it's not that old, it was yesterday). So here are other drawings.

Fake Tilt-Shift Photography

A friend of mine found a tutorial on how to fake tilt-shift photography. I wanted to try it in some pictures, so here they are:

This is my first attempt on faking this pictures. The pictures are not mine, I just faked the effect. Check out the tutorial, it's real simple and easy.

Oh, another thing...

Hey, another thing is that I got my demo reel done like three months ago.
so here you go.

Back from... not posting in a while

wow, it's been a long time since I posted something.
well, I'm going to start again, but not to talk about stuff,
just putting my recent work and sketches I do when I'm
bored, and stuff like that.

ummm...
I think I could start now with this quick sketch I did using Photoshop:

I'm doing an internship for a class in Full Sail University. I'm working as a concept artist for the time. They wanted me to redesign a character called Mr. Monster.
well... that's all for today.

The "Village Pet Store And Charcoal Grill" opened by Banksy

The famous stencil/graffiti artist from the UK, Banksy, has opened a 'pet shop' in New York. The pet shop has strange things like hot dog families and more crazy stuff. You can see more on BBC News.

Worst Movie of the Year

Yes... Hi director James Wong! Thank you for F*%#ING UP DRAGON BALL!

I don't know when but they released the teaser trailer for Dragon Ball: The Movie. Supposed to be based on the famous 80's manga title Dragon Ball, it looks like all the crappy ordinary kung fu movies that come out straight to DVD.

So you got Bulma with guns, a not perverted Roshi and a "Prophecy". I'm tired of all this "You are the One" movies! I just want to know WHY? Why James Wong? Why is Goku have to be a Chosen One!? He's not a chosen one!

Sorry for all the crying and sh*t. I'm not a Dragon Ball fan, but I like the series. Why is Roshi not a pervert? Basically they said it wouldn't be good for a family film. Wait a minute... Family film? Ohhhhhh sh*t...

So there you got it... Dragon Ball: The Movie. Don't go see it

(sorry for the cursing)

The Ugly Truth

I eat meat. Never thought it was this painfull to the animals. I think I'm going to stop now with the meat... Click on the image or this link to watch the video. WARNING: Uncensored. Super graphic.

Religulous

I don't know, but this movie I gotta see. I don't follow any religion, still doesn't mean I don't believe in God. I think this world would be a better place without religion. No wars, no hate because your from another religous group or anything. But I'm kind of getting away from what I'm trying to say here: go watch the movie.

Music, music, music...

I'm always looking for some good music on the internet (who isn't?). Anyway, my favorite style of music is that downbeat, ambient, cool music that you can sit down and chill with some friends. Like this guy, TM Juke. I can't put his stuff over here, but I can put the link (that's TM Juke on last.fm) so you can chill like me. I was listening two of his albums, Forward and Maps from the Wilderness, and I've never heard so many downbeat, turntablism, ambient type of music together in an album. It was great! And just to say, Maps from the Wilderness I think is better than Forward. This to cd's are worth buying if you really like to just sit back and relax or work to this Be sure to listen to "Just for a Day (Sunday)", super cool track.

Another two artists with awesome music is Jon Cates and dpL. I found a mix of some originals and remixes on Fairtilizer. And I'm telling you, you'll feel relaxed with this stuff.

And last,
Kid Koala. He has some cool tracks. Sounds like jazz with ambient, turntablism, and the same like the other ones. It's really cool and fun to listen to. You should check him out too at www.last.fm.

Softimage/XSI Case Study: Metal Gear Solid 4

Out of all of Softimage's client articles they have on their website, I had to write about this one. There's nothing like Metal Gear Solid. A game with an awesome conspiracy story that goes throughout the 4 games, interesting characters, and Snake. Why Snake separate from 'interesting characters'? 'Cause he's the sh*t, he's something else.
I haven't had the opportunity, the pleasure, the ummm... whatever, i haven't played MGS4 yet so I don't know what happens in it, but that's cool because I'm not going to write about the game's story(some of you guys already finished the game so what's the point) or anything, I'm here to write about this article someone told me about in Softimage's website. For you guys that don't know Softimage is a 3d software just like Maya or 3dsMax. Metal Gear Solid is not the only game that has used Softimage, there are other games like Assasin's Creed, Ninja Gaiden 2, Virtual Fighter and a couple of more titles. Anyway this article talks about Konami's production pipeline from story board to final look on the PS3, plus it explain how some tools from the 3d software were used in the creation of this game. GO CHECK IT OUT!!! :D

Something to waste our time... But why does it has to be so cool!?

Recently in July, Google launched a browser based world called Lively where you create an avatar and chat with anyone. You can create your own room and add stuff from your inventory like couches, tables, plants, even a TV where you can watch any YouTube video you want! It's another tool to waste our time, but it's really fun. Make sure to check it out at: www.lively.com
